I founded Arlene Miller Creative Writing in memory of my mother Arlene Miller (August 24, 1924-May 10, 2005) to recognize & support all forms of creative expression.
Time blinks, her eyes look towards Fate, a birthday poem for @LisaNEdwards by Tracy Diane Miller
Time blinks, her eyes look towards Fate,
Not restless, is she,
The seconds, then minutes, and finally the days,
All move so quickly, while capturing our gaze.
Why do we fight Fate?
You can’t fight Fate.
Rather, lean on her, take her hand,
Listen with your heart, you’ll understand.
Fate and time,
These sisters offer no apology,
But teach us hard lessons,
As we discover who we are meant to be.
Measure the tears,
Measure the scars,
Measure the miles,
For you’ve come so far.
Nourished by the sun,
Reborn by the rain,
Fate, she makes no mistakes,
When courage becomes yours to gain.
