A genteel whisper, a poem for @RuthieConnell by Tracy Diane Miller

Her name is Ruth.

As a little girl of yesteryear, she understood,

That a genteel whisper from an unspoiled heart held the promise of hope and love.

The days and the nights, the nights and the days, the sun and the moon; time with the seconds and the minutes and the hours and the days and the weeks and the months and the years…never at a standstill, moving towards a rapid pace.

But as that little girl of yesteryear grew: still, she knew.

That a genteel whisper from an unspoiled heart travels through time with grace.

She is an actress who communicates through the characters she portrays,

And a woman who gives a piece of herself through her kindness each day.

Cyberspace, she doesn’t fear because she knows that a genteel whisper becomes a compassionate roar,

An unbreakable connection to the millions of hearts of others, endless power in store.

Her name is Ruth.

She feels,

She sees,

Through the heartache and despair,

Her name is Ruth and she cares.
